Dental bridge

Bridges provide a fixed solution to replace the space when a single tooth or multiple teeth are missing. Bridges can restore your ability to chew and speak properly and prevent remaining teeth from shifting around.

What to expect

Placing a bridge usually requires a minimum of two visits to complete. At the first visit, your dentist will prepare the teeth on either side of the gap to allow space for a crown to be fitted over them. An impression of the teeth is then taken and sent to an external dental lab for fabrication. A temporary bridge will be put in place to protect the prepared teeth whilst you are waiting for the permanent bridge to be completed.
During the second visit, the temporary bridge will be removed and the fit and aesthetics of the new porcelain bridge will be checked. Once we are happy with this, the permanent bridge will be cemented to the prepared teeth. Additional appointments may be required to fine-tune the fit of the bridge.
In some cases, dental implants may be used to support a bridge when several teeth are missing. Dr. Eugene Lim is highly experienced in the placement of dental implants and will be able to guide you through this process if implants are required.
